I learned to speak the German language when I was 28. Frankly, learning German wasn’t easy and I never got very good at it – so much vocabulary and so many grammar rules. I did learn one important fact though… German is everywhere in business and engineering. The influence of the German economy, government and culture has been timeless and is not diminishing. Your child can learn German more easily (and more proficiently) than I did. Language experts believe that German is the European language that most closely resembles English – I am not sure that I buy that, but I do know that most of my kids could say “hamburger” at a pretty young age.
