Benefits of See It Sign It Game

Sensory

• Addressed in use of video through vision.
• Through touch when signing

Fine Motor

• Great focus in this area.
• Fine motor skills are practiced, enhanced and mastered as signs become more involved and letters are put together to form words, and or words together to create sentences.
• Cards are sized well to fit into even small hands as they manipulate to play games.

Gross Motor

• Perhaps not as much in this area, however some signs may require larger movements involving large muscle groups.

Language

• Obviously the primary focus here
• Gaining the skills of an additional language through in depth and clear instructions that address learning through a variety of styles and approaches. There are games for everyone whether they are visual, auditory or kinesthetic learners.

Social Emotional

• Another area of great benefits
• Children/teens/adults can gain skills to communicate with those they may not have been able to before thereby giving them a great sense of accomplishment and connection.
• Games and DVD provide immediate and clear instruction so that self correction can be done with ease.

Creativity

• The product covers a variety of games, but can also be expanded upon and allows for creativity in the formation of new games or variations onexisting games.

Cognitive Development (often thought of as "Thinking" but including comprehension, memory, problem solving and decision making)

• Another strong area
• This system allows for an integration of learning which is beneficial to cognitive development. Using several styles of learning (visual, auditory, kinesthetic) simultaneously helps reinforce comprehension and memory. The games also provide "players/learners" with the opportunity to problem solve if their sign does not resemble the picture or DVD presentation.
